Julia is a creative, empathetic, and down-to-earth social worker with many years of clinical practice in community children’s mental health. Julia has worked extensively with children and youth with complex behavioural and mental health challenges. She has expertise working with children, youth, parents, and family units and is committed to understanding and supporting a family altogether. With a strong knowledge of child development, attachment, and helping children heal from stress and trauma, Julia can come alongside children and their families to support where needed while prioritizing parent-child relationships.
As a parent to young children, Julia also understands the realities of parenting and family life and can help tailor interventions and plans to best meet each family’s needs. Julia’s approach to practice incorporates narrative therapy, elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment and family systems theory, and an understanding of natural child development.
