Individual ADHD Assessments
At Hello Counselling, our ADHD assessments are designed to provide a clear, compassionate, and evidence-based understanding of attention-related challenges. We offer comprehensive evaluations for both children and adults to support accurate diagnosis and create personalized treatment plans that promote focus, organization, and overall well-being.
Navigating Life with ADHD
Adult (18+) ADHD Assessments
Our Adult ADHD Assessment helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of how attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning affect their daily life. This five-session process provides clarity and practical next steps for managing symptoms effectively, and includes a medical diagnostic component conducted by Dr. Palencar.
Cost: $1200 | Clinicians: Laurel Webb & Dr. Palencar | Duration: 3 × 90-minute sessions with Laurel & 2+ × 60-minute sessions with Dr. Palencar
Intake Session
During this initial 90-minute session, we focus on building a therapeutic alliance and understanding your background, presenting concerns, and life history. This session allows you to share your experiences in a supportive setting and ensures that we capture all relevant information to inform the overall assessment process and medical diagnosis
Assessment Parts 1 & 2
These sessions (each 90 minutes) involve comprehensive information gathering, including standardized rating scales, clinical interviews, and symptom assessment. Together, we identify patterns of attention, impulsivity, and executive function challenges that may be affecting your work, relationships, and overall functioning.
Diagnosis & Treatment
The final 60-minute sessions provides an in-depth review of your results with Dr. Palencar, clinical impressions, and recommendations. You’ll receive clear feedback on your diagnosis, coping strategies, and next steps, including therapy options and referrals for medical consultation.
Raising a Child with ADHD
Child & Youth (6-17) ADHD Assessments
Our Child & Youth ADHD Assessment is a family-centered evaluation process that identifies attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity symptoms in children and teens aged 6–17. Each assessment includes sessions for both parents and the child, ensuring a holistic understanding of the child’s strengths and challenges.
Cost: $2000 | Clinicians: Laurel Webb & Nurse Practitioner Rachel Klompmaker | Duration: 2 × 90-minute sessions with Laurel & 2 × 90-minute sessions with Rachel
Parent Intake Session
The first session, attended by parents only, explores developmental history, background information, and current challenges. This conversation helps us understand your child’s unique experiences and sets the foundation for a supportive assessment process.
Child & Parent Assessments
In two 90-minute sessions, our clinicians meet with your child to conduct observations, administer rating scales, and assess attention, focus, and emotional regulation. These sessions help us identify your child’s needs in academic, social, and home environments.
Findings & Diagnosis
Following the clinical sessions, our Nurse Practitioner Rachel Klompmaker conducts a 90-minute medical evaluation to consider any underlying factors, review assessment data, and collaborate with parents to discuss possible next steps and treatment options.

How do I know if I should book an ADHD assessment?
If you or your child are struggling with focus, organization, restlessness, or impulsivity that impacts school, work, or relationships, an ADHD assessment can provide clarity and direction. Our clinicians can help explore whether your symptoms may be consistent with ADHD or another factor.
What’s the difference between the adult and child assessments?
Adult assessments focus on understanding lifelong patterns of attention and executive function, while child assessments involve both parents and the child to evaluate developmental, behavioral, and educational factors. Each process is age-appropriate and tailored to the client’s needs.
Who conducts the assessments?
For our adult sessions our Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) Laurel Webb will conduct the first three assessment sessions, afterwards Dr. Palencar will conduct the Diagnosis & Treatment Plan for at least two sessions, covered by OHIP. For our Children & Youth Laurel Webb our Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) will conduct the first two assessments, one with the parents and one with the child and parents, afterwards Rachel Klompmaker our Nurse Practitioner will conduct a medical assessment and diagnosis over two sessions.
Are sessions covered by OHIP or insurance?
Our services with the psychotherapist and nurse practitioner are not covered by OHIP, but many extended health insurance plans reimburse psychotherapy and psychological assessments. The followup appointments, after the initial assessments, with Dr. Palencar, for adults only are covered by OHIP.
What happens after I receive my results?
You’ll receive a comprehensive feedback report summarizing findings, recommendations, and the medical diagnosis provided by the physician or nurse practitioner. You can continue with psychotherapy at Hello Counselling for skill-building and coping strategies or bring your report to your family doctor for medical follow-up and prescriptions.
