Common questions that show up in therapy are “Why do I keep doing this?”, “What is wrong with me?”, or “Why do I feel this way”? Whether you shut down in conflict, avoid certain situations, or become overwhelmed by emotions, most of us struggle with frustrating or confusing patterns. But what if those patterns are not random or a sign of something wrong? What if these patterns have been trying to protect you?
This is why I do the work I do. Every emotion and behaviour makes sense in context, and we all develop strategies to stay safe based on our life experiences. Sometimes, those strategies help us survive. And sometimes, they get in the way of how we want to live. In therapy, we gently become curious about those patterns, explore their roots, and build new responses that feel more aligned, grounded, and empowering.
I am passionate about creating a space where people feel safe enough to explore authentically; to look beneath the surface, reconnect with themselves, and interrupt old cycles with compassion rather than judgment. I draw on approaches like acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and polyvagal theory, but at the core, my approach is always grounded in relationship and presence. Therapy isn’t about fixing you, it’s about getting curious and compassionate, interrupting automatic patterns, and making space for something new.
If you’re wondering, “Why does this keep showing up?” I would love to explore with you!
